Zackery Bulman

Zackery Bulman, PharmD

Dr. Bulman is an Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy where he has been working since 2017. He is a dedicated clinician-scientist specializing in infectious diseases pharmacology. With a strong foundation in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, his research focuses on developing innovative treatment strategies against multidrug-resistant bacterial infections. Dr. Bulman’s work integrates translational pharmacology with cutting-edge therapeutic approaches, including the use of antibiotic combinations to overcome challenging pathogens. Passionate about advancing antimicrobial therapy, he is committed to improving patient outcomes through rigorous research and collaborative innovation. He has received four recent awards that recognize his scholarly contributions, such as the 2023 New Investigator Award from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy for excellence in research and exceptional promise in leadership. He also serves the research community through his roles as the Treasurer for the International Society of Anti-Infective Pharmacology and Associate Editor for the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents. He is also serves as a member of the AST Breakpoints Working Group at the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI).

Nidhi Singh

Nidhi Singh, PhD, Research Specialist

Nidhi is from India and she received her PhD in 2017 from Vellore Institute of Technology, India. She has numerous publications pertaining to her research projects. Previously she also worked for Ball Horticultural Company, West Chicago. She joined the Precision Antimicrobial Laboratory in September 2020 and has become a leader in the laboratory during her tenure.

Jackson Watkins

Jackson Watkins, MSc, Research Specialist

Jackson is from Denver, Colorado and graduated with an MSc from Northwestern University in Earth and Planetary Sciences (2024), as well as an MSc from Colorado State University in Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology (2020). His research interests and background include inactivation of respiratory pathogens, antibiotic resistant organisms, and -omic approaches for understanding microbial community dynamics. In addition, he teaches courses in climate and ecology at the College of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Keith_Long_PharmD

Keith Long, PharmD, PhD, Postdoctoral Scholar

Keith received his PharmD (2017) as well as his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2022) from the University of Pittsburgh. His PhD was in the medicinal chemistry track under the supervision of Dr. Donna Huryn. He recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Terry Moore’s Lab at UIC. His medicinal chemistry work was focused around bioisosteric replacement for hit to lead generation in multiple disease states including acute kidney injury and gram negative infections.

Osayamen Obanor

Osayamen Obanor, Student Research Assistant

Osayamen is from Katy, TX and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She is currently a PharmD candidate at UIC College of Pharmacy, Class of 2026 and joined the Precision Antimicrobial Laboratory in May 2023 as part of the Riback Summer Program.

Christin Jogan

Christin Jogan, Student Research Assistant

Christin is from Cleveland, OH where she received her bachelor’s degree at John Carroll University. She moved to Chicago to pursue a PharmD at the UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy and is in the class of 2027. Christin loves trying new foods, traveling, and being out in the sun and also bakes in her free time. Christin is interested in pursuing a career in ambulatory care and/or clinical pharmacy.

GilbertoEspinoza

Gilberto Espinoza, Student Research Assistant

Gilberto is from Chicago, Illinois, and is currently a Doctor of Pharmacy candidate at the UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy, class of 2029. He is also a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (BSPS) student. Gilberto joined the Precision Antimicrobial Laboratory as an Honors/BSPS student in 2024.
